When ET Bike racer Giselle Moor wheeled on the startline
during qualifying at the RedLine Rumble at Santa Pod Raceway last August,
little did anyone know how life changing her injury would be. Giselle suffered
a serious spinal cord injury and, despite her “WILL do” rather than
“can do” attitude, Giselle would find life a lot easier with a Smart
Drive, or as she describes it “Cruise Control for a Wheelchair”. An
online fund has been set up to try and raise the £5,000 needed, with friends
and family pledging to undertake all sorts of challenges to help.
Over the Festival of Power weekend at Santa Pod, SuZe
Morris, of “Satan’s Lady” ET Bike team, ran a “Guess The Easter
Treats” competition, and was blown away by the generosity of people,
collecting a fantastic £700 mainly from Bike Racers, Marshals, and the Wild
Bunch. The total number of treats in the basket was 153 (PB MPH for
“Satan’s Lady”) and the basket was won by 8.50 Bike Racer Ian
Chrichlow.
“We’ll be doing something along similar lines at
Springspeed Nationals over the weekend of 4/5 May, where we’ll be venturing out
of the bike pits to visit our 4-wheeled friends, so hopefully we’ll be adding
another healthy amount to the fund. In the meantime I would like to say a
massive Thank You to everyone who donated over the Easter Weekend. The Drag
Racing Family is a wonderful thing to be a part of.”
