Eastern Raider, if you thought your picture made you feel old, imagine how I feel as I took this one of High Fever in 1968. Fourty years ago. never thought that one day I would be the owner/driver as I was only earning £4-12s-6d a week as an engineering apprentice, I thought all these driver/owners must be multi millionaires, now I know thay are!!!!!!!. As I have taken digital photos of the roll of film I took of the 1968 event (all 8 of them) from that event, I shall put them on another topic on this web site.

Anyone know Crazydale user name of new owner?
Just re read my post reguarding the name on the cowl. i know why its says Torture lab 11. Bob had Terry Bull paint it. Nick did not care for it, so the car became Honest Charie speedshop Special. Before High fever

Sid,
I am in touch with the new owner who is trying to get the car back to London from Sheffield.
So I gave him a link to Scottie.
He has brought the car to replace a street/strip car he lost in a garage fire earlyier this year, he is hoping to make his debue on the black top next year. I wish him well. He is away on Holiday at the moment but I have given him links to this site and the Wild Bunch so I hoping he will join up and introduce himself. He is keen to get as much info as posible so I shall give him my story when he returns in a couple of weeks as I have his e-mail address.
Thanks for the info on the Torture lab details another mystery solved if only the banks came on this site we could clear up the mess in no time.
I am also away for a week as well, I shall catch up on the news then.
Posted my old 1968 pictures on the picture thread.

The name Torture Lab was originally used on a roundy-round car that Tony Densham ran in the 60s. There was an old guy who lived close to Bob Nixon, I think his name was Pete? who was involved with Tony Densham in the 60s and Bob took me round to see him as he had a load of pics, mainly roundy-round stuff and that's where I saw a pic of Torture Lab and commented that it would be a good name for a dragster. Then in 1996 when my slingshot was at Bob's having a Nitros kit fitted Bob got Terry Bull to put Torture Lab II on the cowl. The Honest Charley name was before that when it was blue and I'd just had it resprayed black. It remained Torture Lab II until I had the Topolino body fitted

Welcome back Nick. Good trip?
You have been missed. The rest of us have rallied round trying to fill in the gaps.
I had to tie my key board hand behind back to stop me bidding on High fever's chassis.

That old Guy was Piere de Villiers. (Pete Villiers) hair to motor cycle dynesty. He raced Mg's and others in the US for the factorys, Along with Stirling Moss. Mad as a tree in his seventys, split his time between here and Arizona. Taking French vans back and bringing BSA's in. Made more and lost more fortunes than wev'e had hot dinners. Before he died he was writing a book. Either a complete bullSh*ter or a true caractor :?

There's an old photo of High Fever for sale on ebay.
It wouldn't be right to post it here but search for 'santa pod' and you'll find a bunch of old pics for sale.
I don't know who the seller is.
