After months of trying to locate a supply of carbon fibre cored, stainless helically wound ignition wire for the MSD ignition system fitted to the drag bike, I eventually found a source in this country. Spent a few hours replacing the leads, now 8 mm silicon, marking them up and crimping the terminals on with my new lead crimpers. All ready now for another start attempt.

What is your next modification plan for this car?
Btw, this is a clean build.

Well spotted, Pike!! I haven't put anything on here for ages as nothing has been done since the ignition leads. Really needs two people to attempt a start, and my usual helper, my Niece, is a matron at a major NHS hospital, so as you can guess, I haven't seen much of her ,as for some reason she's been busy!! Not happy with the fitting of the air-filters, so will be addressing that, otherwise we hope to get the bugger started and to appear at Dragstalgia running or not....

It might be of interest to the viewers of this thread to show you another bike I've built in the last 8 months. It's a Rickman Z900 fitted with an Eaton 45 supercharger. People don't understand why I'd do this to a bike purely for the road, but once a drag racer, always a drag racer!!

We had the bike on display at the Dragstalgia meeting at the Pod this July, and were amazed at all the interest. Some remember seeing the bike on display in the window of Daytona Kawasaki in Ruislip in the early 1980s. Someone remembered being beaten by the bike whilst racing at the Pod, and others could just not believe the bike had survived after all these years. But by far the biggest comment, was that no one had heard a double four cylinder bike ever run, only seeing them in books and magazines, so next year we will try to have the bike running and hopefully go down the strip 40 years since it last did.

I used to work across the road from Daytona in the late 70s and early 80s. I would often see Bob Webster, Steve Woollatt and Rod Pallant visiting the premises. No doubt there would have been others.

I look forward to seeing and hearing the bike running again.
