Didn't a guy by the name of Dave Hartshorne run the car for a period without the DB Motors deal attached to it as per the first picture. That's the only name I can think of at the moment.

Muddytalker, you may be right if Dave Hartshorne ran this car in Pro Comp. If it was this car I remember he had a controversial incident/accident in it at the Pod. He wasn't hurt I don't think but it created ructions with the officials.
Anyway let's not open that one up. One things for sure it was a purposeful looking piece in DB colours!

Hey it could of changed hands before that .. the top pick shows the DB name taped out?

I reackon that the top photo was taken when Dave Hartshorne ran the car (hence the taping up of the DB Motors name), but the others I would say was when the original team had it consisting of Kevin Burrows, Jeff Morris and Rob Spence. According to the article in 'National Drag Racer' the chassis was built with knowledge otained by film from the workshops of Woody Gilmore, and that went for the techniques in the hand formed body panels which were based on those used on Clive Skilton's exKuhl & Olsen dragster.

Which blown car Herb! I don't really recall them ever running a blown dragster other than injected ones. However, looking through some old issue's of the very first incarnation of Fire Up magazine - the club mag for NDRC Midlands - this piece of news about the taping up of the DB Motors names has come to light.

It would appear that this was done during a Pod meet in July '75 (probably when the first photo was taken) due to the running costs and, I quote 'was withdrawn from competition having served its purpose from the advertising point of view. The nitro guzzling rat motor is to be sold to Kev Burrows who with a couple of friends is to build a new chassis and search for sponsorship.'

The news item went on to say that the car had run a best of 8.07 at 181 mph which at the time wasn't bad for an injected motor.

On another thread its was mentioned they ran in Pro Comp so I assumed it was blown but since then I understood it to be injected nitro.
