I'm hoping to get the Jascar's back with the full size Mascar's for a race in October. I'm also hoping to get along to a test session next Tuesday at Birmingham Wheels.

Just a few more updates from the weekend:

GREEN ONIONS did it again! Congratulations to Ray Turner and crew for his win at last weekend's Gasser Circus Showdown. Bring on Nostalgia Nationals!

Alec Coe has sent us the following notes about the Supercharged Outlaws:
What a great weekend with 13 cars rolling in. We had two new members arrive; the all black Chevy Nova of Simon Cooper and Simon Boot with his Chevy Camaro The Bootlegger. Two great additions to the club. Also Ian Kerr arrived but only managed one run with his new car, the ex Paul Knight Super Comp Pontiac Firebird. Many thanks to Shakespeare County Raceway for the excellent facilities, well prepped track and the care they take to look after us and ensure our safety. Unfortunately Team Thing broke a valve spring on the warm up and couldn't race but they will be back raring to go at the Tractor Pull on June 9th/10th. Congratulation go to everyone especially the two Simons for putting on a great show at their first outing with us. Also to Clive Bush for making his first runs after 9 years of hard work building Crazy Horse. Congratulations also to Sam Freeman (7.54) and Andy Hadfield (8.177) for some great personal bests.

Results for the meeting are as follows:
1st Place Sam Freeman
2nd Place Andy Hadfield
3rd Place Tom Coe
Best Reaction Sam Freeman

Many thanks to Good Vibrations for the continued sponsorship.

I thought it was a great weekend ! Twister was the first car out on Saturday and with that daft wheelstand, we fractured a transmission line and dumped the whole contents of the glide along the 1/4.... and the run off. Jerry was absolutely thrilled..as were the other racers. It was an hour before the hard working crew at Shakey got the track back open.

A change of name by deed poll from Fadster to "Mud" was necessary because if my earlier antics had not been enough, I managed to take out the timing blocks on my next 2 runs...... I dunno, they say this game is a great leveller, sure is !

Back in the pits, the discovery that the roll out on our slicks was a 2" difference prompted the change to road tyres. Back on track and we saw 2 new pb's... an 8.17 @ 174 closely followed by an 8.15 @ 175, both these runs and all of those on our street treads being as straight as a die !

Clearly, Twister has decidsed all by itself that it wants to remain a street car and not go for the full balls out race deal !

We are still only launching at 2500 revs and not bringing the nitrous in until around the 200 foot mark.

Next racing event for us is the Nostalgia Nationals and we hope to run our first 7 there.... fingers crossed.

Must remember to pack the nitrous, tyres....oh, and some new timing blocks for Mr Cookson !! :D

With a strong product line suited to all makes and models of American cars from the magical fifties to present day models, the US Automotive legend has appeared on numerous American vehicles, including an SCCA series American Stock Car and more recently with their association with the British Drag Racing Hall of Fame, which has just been renewed for the third consecutive year. This association started in October 2011, when USAutomotive agreed to supply many of the parts required to transform the drag strip’s promotional street/strip vehicle; a 1989 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z, supporting the raceway in the complete rebuild of the vehicle.

Currently stocking in excess of 20,000 product lines, company Technical Director Steve Trice is always looking for something new to compliment US Automotive’s film and TV work, having supplied parts for vehicles appearing in blockbuster movies such as Batman and James Bond.

Steve says, "US Automotive are now the only UK based company to have LIVE parts ordering online, where not only can you buy your American car parts online but can also check stock levels and get information about the products.” The Bedfordshire based concern also offer’s a free VIN decoding service for customers to decode their VIN number and select the appropriate parts for their vehicle. Steve also writes the regular “Doctors Drive Thru” page in Classic American Magazine, offering advice to those in need.

SCR Promotions Manager Jeremy Cookson says, "This is great news to have US Automotive onboard for this year’s event especially being a milestone year for the track celebrating forty years of competitive drag racing at the Long Marston Airfield site. 2013 should prove to be our best yet, with more exiting associations and support to be announced soon.”

So if you’re in need of a part then why not check out US Automotive’s web site http://www.usautomotive.co.uk punch in a few numbers and see what they can do for you, or give them a call on 01234 273155 and don’t forget to get yourself along to Shakespeare County Raceway for one of our exiting 40th anniversary events this year.

For further details about any event taking place at Shakespeare County Raceway this year please visit our web site at http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.co.uk or our raceway and event pages on Facebook.
