Found this story in a 1975 copy of ‘National Drag Racer’ magazine. Also came across these two records from the track in 1974; Top Fuel: Roz Prior - Revells Fast Lady - 4.91/161 & Funny Car: Dennis Priddle - STP Avenger - 5.67/143'

Just been trawling through some old threads and came across this. Here's the programme for the second and last meeting at Crossland Moor on 31st August/1st September 1974.

That's a great find Clive. I haven't seen a programme from that track before. There's a few ell known names there and some who weren't so well known then.

BP3 David Warne 'Travelin Javelin' - A.M.C.
HP48 Martin Cowell 'Snoozy' - M.G.
DS3 Bernard Hepworth - Kawasaki

The meet also had a class for three wheelers with Ag MacPhail and Pip Higham was racing a bike as well as a car; Hocus Pocus Rickman and 302ci Ford!

Ken Thrope was running the Pubcrawler Jag 3.8 dragster and not George Davie! Any more names that leap out at you?

That looks like one of the Aintree meets. There's a horse hurdle in the background.

Just come across this thread. I ran Two Faced at Crossland Moor in 1974 but it must have been at the first meeting as my name doesn't appear in the programme posted earlier. However, I DO have some silent cine-film of it running at Crossland Moor, which is on one of my DVD's. There was a 'funny' incident the day I ran. I got to the top end and I could see a helicopter getting ready for take off. I got off Two Faced and left it with the top end marshalls and ran over to the 'copter to see if I could cadge a ride! He said "OK but you're not insured" I said "Not worried about that, I'd just like a 'spin' ". I jumped in and he took me for a spin over the airfield and dropped me back near the start area. 'had to go back to the top end to collect my bike! But it was fun. Cheers, Pete Williams

I recently bought some stuff on ebay which included the January 1977 newsletter from the PDRC. It contains some interesting info about the history of the PDRC and also the announcement of the acquisition of Melbourne as their new track.
