Public Track Weekend & Cal Look VW Drag Day 06/04/13

I think it's fair to say that yesterday (Sat) was the quietest day I've ever spent at a drag racing event since I've been going.
The VW guys kept turning up all day but decided not to come out and play because the main VW day was today (Sun) and for some strange reason the RWYB lot that Shakey usually get stayed away.

But the sun came out at last and it's was nice to catch up with every one at the track after the long winter so the trip up and back was justified - just

This car was out at Shakey a few times last year but looks much better now.

What a difference 2 weeks can make.
Cracking weather and the pairing lanes were jammed full all day.

The 4-pot blue altered belongs to Adam Charnly who previously raced a short track Legend on the drag strips and was once the owner of the JWR Opel Senator FC rolling chassis and shell.

Yes indeed Jon and much better weekend than two weeks ago. Today was just as busy but sadly marred when the silver Pop of Dave Jones went on its side at the top end after the motor had poked a couple of rods out (Dave was okay), and Holly Baldwin trashed a motor in her VW Sportsman Beetle at three quarter track. Holly just managed to keep it from tagging the armco.
