There really is some great looking photos here from the weekend. As for the car, I also didn't realise how out of shape I was. Photos don't lie though!

It was a real shame we weren't able to race again on the Saturday, as the timing of the sessions we went into didn't quite work for us! We were ready to race again come about 4.30 or so, but with the flag starting about to commence we were a little late.

Great weekend all things considered, a shame about the Sunday but the cars ready for the next one. Thanks to everyone for the photos, and also those who came up to me and the crew and said how much they enjoyed the race with Steve Goode. I think the only person to not enjoy it was my poor mother! The girlfriend enjoyed her first trip to the racetrack, which was great too!

It was great to see Dave Ward behind the controls of the Rampage Chevy Monza Funny Car again.

The legend that is John Hobbs. Speaking with John later in the day he told me that the first run of 8.510 at 158.77 mph was the quickest the bike had ever run at Avon Park/Shakespeare County Raceway.

The Heritage Stock cars are coming back in September for the NSRA Hot Rod Drags with even more cars. Two of them were racing at Bristol Speedway Saturday night. They did well to clean them up.

Thanks for the post the link TT. As you say there's quite a lot of photos in Russ' collection of cars that I didn't get to see on the drag strip. I must get out more or make that when they let me out But who owns the Judge Mental T-Bucket Altered featured on pages 2 and 5. Is this a new altered or one that carries some history. Any ideas

Had a good weekend there even though it rained, caught up with a lot of people for the first time in 30 years and met a few friends for the first time,including Jon.
