I would post a photo but as a newcomer to the forum I'm not ready for such technicalities!
In 72/73 I also put a Blown Daimler 2.5 in my rail which previously had a straight 6 zephyr, but personal circumstances overtook and I never managed to race the car,so I dont suppose it counts, but was able to show it a couple of times before it was sold on. When I can get the scanner to work(!) I'll post a picture. Ahh, what it is to be a computer illiterate.....
Hi Martyn and welcome to the forum, look forward to seeing any pics you have when you get your scanner working, in the meantime here's a pic of your rail from the July '77 Hot Car Magazine. It's the old Reg Sommers dragster which is still around today with Chevy power although I've not seen it out for a while.........

Yes, I still have a 300e. Its an Escort, with a Rover v8, manual box, and Ford9in rear. I parted with the Squire about 6 years ago still with its aquaplaned S/V, and the 1500GT van went about 18 months ago. And yes I remember the window display promoting the ChelmsfordD.S.R.C. and also have some pics.

Hi Martyn !
I'm sure I've got a picture of the squire and the blown Ford (?) R.E.D., at the Yeovil Festival of Transport.
I'll see if I can dig it out.
Didn't Craig Lewis buy the Daimler car off you, for it to become Pegasus (or My Little Pony, as some used to think !)
Dopey.

I was round Roger Sinclairs recently, he had the window display pic in his scrapbook, so I borrowed it and scanned it. Thats Marty on the Right, Roger on the left and the Nationwide manager in the hot seat.
Marty, Roger said to say hi.

Hi all, just thought i would let you know of a new Daimler slingshot that i'm building to run with the Wild Bunch.
I've got the engine stripped and ready for re-build and i'll be starting on the chassis mid week. I'm hoping to have a rolling chassis with the engine in it to take to Dragstalgia and pit it along side my brothers car Spud.
I'm going up to the workshop today and will take a couple of pics of the engine with new intake and post them later.

That's good news, I look forward to the pictures.
Does the motor have any history?
