Interesting to see a pic of Bob Deichen's 'Majesty' altered, it was unusual in that it had the 4.5 litre daimler engine rather than the more common 2.5.

Bob was instrumental in helping get my Wild Angel dragster in the track. As I was only 16 when I bought to chassis, and he lived literally in the next street. His help was appreciated. I remember his car having a roll cage made, would you believe, aluminium scaffold tube and the seat was an old plastic kitchen chair. It was unbelievable what we could get away with then!

Prior to that he ran a BMC 'B' series Allard dragster, it wasn't painted but had flowered fablon covering the bodywork. I wonder what became of that?

A couple of years before I sold Opus One to Dennis Stone in 1970 it had a 2.5 litre Daimler for a short time.
I switched to small block Chevy power soon afterwards. First time out at the Pod I was protested by one of my fellow D/CA competitors who thought it was a (Chrysler) Hemi !

A blast from the past, no less !
I am fine, thanks. June is too, I think. I haven't seen her for 25 years. We split up after about three years here. Last I heard she was in her fourth marriage and living near the Hollywood sign.
You're right, I did design the NDRC logo. After a few doodles, I actually oil painted it on hardboard about 3' x 3' to use as a sign at the races. It was reduced down to size for decals, pins, stationery etc.
I'm surprised it's still remembered.

Hi Mr.Forum Moderator. Thank you for your nice welcome. I apologize for the off topic posts.
It's nice to see that our early drag racing exploits are being recognized. I enjoyed my time as Mike Treutlein's partner in Crescent Coupe. I just wished I'd tried a bit harder. Fortunately, my eye problem didn't recur and I raced historic cars here during the 80s and 90s. I even reprised my role at the NDRC by being Competition Chairman at a California vintage racing club for several years.
BTW, I noticed a post of yours, including this image, which I couldn't download.

Hello, only just discovered the nostalgia forums, so I'm catching up on bits and pieces. So heres a name thats missing from the list of Daimler names~ through the late 60s, " Anomalous" an Opus bodied car was driven by Phil Smith.
I would post a photo but as a newcomer to the forum I'm not ready for such technicalities!
In 72/73 I also put a Blown Daimler 2.5 in my rail which previously had a straight 6 zephyr, but personal circumstances overtook and I never managed to race the car,so I dont suppose it counts, but was able to show it a couple of times before it was sold on. When I can get the scanner to work(!) I'll post a picture. Ahh, what it is to be a computer illiterate.....
