Could be a Trabant, I would like to think it is a Austin A 40 Farina?

TimeTravel, Peter Jeffries entry is there as SCA12 but its listed in the 1977 Santa Pod programme for April 30th/May 1st - The May Day Summer Nationals - as ‘Brute Force‘. The Reliant Scimitar bodied altered also made programmed appearances at the Santa Pod Season Opener March 20th and the Spring Nationals April 8th/11th. As you say what happened to it afterwards is anyone’s guess!

Ian Shanks JD33 - Shank’s Pony 2548cc
Here is Ian Shanks but it seems like a move to 'Middle Dragster' and a change of name unless this is a different car.

If you look at the M on the race no it looks like it's been added as there's a lighter square around it and also the weight is written below it and looks to have been changed as well so my guess is the dragster had been lightened which changed the power to weight ratio putting it up a class but I can't find it in any programmes with that no listed and I think the name has been changed to "Black Gold" and judging by the trousers this pic must be from the early to mid 70's!
