I think the one above was the only Scimitar Funny Car body built and was the ex-Hillbillies, ex-Ecstasy body.
This was my almost completed Scimitar [ 1996 ] - then the old Mr. Shifter came along !!!!

The rolling chassis [ less lump ] went to Vince Welch for his XK120 roadster body - not sure where the Scimitar body went. It ended up with side skirts and seriously opened up rear arches, 1 piece flip front with full inner alloy bulkeads.

Norm.
Hi Norm, pretty much but undesided what gear box to run, this is where it will be if I use the standard BW35 box.

The reason i asked was because you definetely need to put an upright at the motor plate, then the two missing
diagonals...... you cant have the weight of the motor unsupported as it is in these pics.....Just asking why you did it this way.....Every chassis should have an upright at the motor plate.

Just trying to help

Thanks for the advise, you are right the motor plate uprights should be in there but as i said I'm still not sure what box I'm going to be running and didnt want the uprights to be in the wrong place, I was just a bit eager to see what it looked like on it's wheels. :)

All the guys who ran these little 2.5 Daimler engines are a tribute to British engineering at its best. Is it wonder that most all race car engines in other forms of motorsport in the world also use British companies and engineers to build the best race engine's for FI, NASCAR, Indy Car and so on. My career in the Automotive Industry has brought me in contact with many so called engine builders in other Countries who you wouldn't rely on to change a spark plug, let alone build something of exellence as Russ Carpenter, Robin Read and others have developed. There are no parts books or information for these engines, only sheer brain power and engineering. If you have never heard one of these little fuel engines before, Dragstalgia is the place to be on the 14-15th July.
