Now that the Santa Pod barn has gone I thought it would be good to post some clips that show the unique view it offered.
If you have any old video or cine footage filmed from the barn and want to show it then just mail me.
To start here's funny car ace Harlan Thompson at the 1987 World Finals.
Footage:Brad Beechem.

Look how vigilant the startline marshal is, firstly picking up debris from the track and then signalling to the timekeepers to notify that Harlan was to be on a bye, turning round checking the tree to ensure the red was put in the left lane and no doubt getting ready to put a foot in the lights in the left lane if Harlan had staged if no red had appeared for the left lane...

Sounds quite complimentary for Mr. Broome…..

Clive.
A good quess from Clive....

But nay! A 'smackdown' from Mr. Jarrett! The overly confident ‘Wrong’ makes me think again about who was on the line for 1987…. And only 1987..
Go on, Jim! Own up!

I love the modern funny cars don't get me wrong .. but there's just something about those hops to the line - it's an awesome bit of footage - Thanks to Brad and Jon for making it available for us!
