The return of this thread has reminded me of the first northern drag and custom show that was held in Manchester in 1966 (or was it 67/68? - my CRAFT memory escapes me)
It was organised by Paul Hicks and Clive Lingard.
I think there was a (British Drag Racing)magazine feature done on it.

This has just come in to my possession. Quite a few of those names are still around!

Thanks for posting that show guide Clive, an interesting read, I wonder if that streamlined Mercury dragster ever made it to the strip... Can't say I've ever seen any pics or reports of it running.
