I think that the article may have been penned by Keith Lee as the two photos of ‘Pollution Packer’ and the rear end of the McLure Kart were taken by Keith.

Those are great illustrations Jerry, is there any others in the ‘Speed & Power’ books?
Hi Jon,
Came across this thread rather late - a mere 2 years!
It is amazing how old threads pop up again to jog the brain into action.

I did write the article for Speed and Power, and did quite a few for them, including a nice 2 pager on Mister Revell.
They certainly produced some nice illustration work, although I preferred them to use photos! The picture of Jack standing was a copy of one of my pictures, but the racing shot must have been a real artist's imagination job. Not easy to get good shots at night.
I still have a promo pack that Jack gave me at Orange County, having unearthed it only recently.
Seeing the picture of Pollution Packer reminds me that I have a smartly produced scrapbook publication that Tony Fox mailed to me many years ago. Must dig that out again as it had a lot of good rocket info in it.

I did actually start building a kart myself with a friend, using a Buckler kart frame and a 650 Triumph.
Happily it did not come to fruition, as it was safer the other side of the barrier - most of the time!

I would be interested to see any info you have on Rocket cars Keith if possible.
