I'm a huge fan of Drag Bikes but my knowledge of the old machines is very limited, but I did think it was about time to feature some pictures of bikes that make up an equally important part of UK Drag Racing History.
I hope you have some information to add to these pictures.

Here's what I have come up with so far. I'm sure that TimeTravel will fill in some of the missing names:

Pic 2 - DC84 Derek Penfold - 650s BSA ‘Patience’
DC147 S Austin - 650s Triumph
EC35 A Marsh - 490s Triumph
and the Team Castrol trailer for Norman Hyde in the pits at Silverstone

Pic 3 - DC13 Tom Quinn 650s Triumph ‘Shier Khan’

Pic 4 - AC136 Pete Windross 1500s Triumph

Pic 5 - AC20 Eddie Lloyd - 1600s VW ‘Locomotion’ at Silverstone

Pic 6 - AC199 A Thomson - 1777s NSU ‘Lonewolfe’

Pic 7 - DC13 Tom Quinn 650s Triumph ‘Shier Khan’

Pic 9 - DC34 Jeff Byne - 750s triumph ‘Hurricane’
DC63 Tony Bartram - 745s Harley Davidson ‘Rebel’

Pic 10 - CC83 Ken Gee - 820s Triumph ‘Flying Cornishman’

Great pics Jon, I think Muddy has all the IDs covered. I reckon the year is '73, certainly the last pic which has the Petersen Publishing boards on the start line, sponsors of the '73 Internationals. I wonder if Stu Bradbury still wears that stars and stripes shirt? and if the toddler in the pram still goes to the drags?.......

Looking back at some old bike threads I noticed pic 10 isn't a Triumph could it be Henk Vink

Looking through the pics, most are correctly identified.

2 it is Triumph power in Dereks bike

4 is Paul Windross

5 looks more like John lloyd. Eddy is a bit heavier set shall we say.

10 is definitely Henk on an early Kawa.

While going through some old drag bike photo CD’s marketed by Ian Turburville in 2000 and beyond, one of his disc’s featured quite a few images taken by Terry Dutton from the 1973 Internationals at Santa Pod. There’s quite a few well known names here as well as a few Dutch machines which someone on here might be able to ID. Although they’re not brilliant quality (I guess they were taken on one of those instamatic jobbies), thanks must go to Turbo for allowing us to have the benefit of viewing them after all these years.

I can ID Mick Warne's 'Big Blue' and Danny Johnson's Harley but as to who owned and riden the Bennelli I haven't a clue for the moment. More will be appearing shortly. I'm sure that Clive will be along shortly to cast his expert eye over them.
