That's another one I haven't seen before Roy. But I don't think the NDRC had there control bus on the start line at Santa Pod! Check the caption. The pic was probably taken at Blackbushe. You can just see Wiggy in the doorway of the bus.

These cuttings came from the 1968 edition of Motor Cycle and the Vagabonds Club quarter mile sprint at Santa Pod.

You`re right, I guess it may have editorial mistake, someone who didn`t know drag racing too well thinking " that`s a nice picture, we`ll use it with the article". Newspapers and magazines have been known to get things a bit mixed up.

Great posts guys. Back in the day Autosport gave the sport quite a lot of coverage. Now we're lucky if they even string the words 'drag racing' into one sentence!
