In case anyone missed the public announcement last week, Don Garlits will indeed attend this year's Goodwood Festival Of Speed (25-28 June), bringing with him Swamp Rat 1, arguably the most iconic historic vehicle in drag racing.

Sad to say, he will only be here over that weekend, so anyone who wants to see The Man and The Machine in action on UK soil should get booking for the FOS.

Really looking forward to seeing Swamp Rat I !

Remember the 2008 display of historic American dragsters on the cricket pitch. Was there on Thurs (set up day) and chatted to some of the team who were cleaning off salt damage from the ocean crossing, and repairing a sump that damaged during transit.
They did a cackle twice a day, so as I went on two days, I caught all four, well, it be rude not too!

On an additional note re Goodwood, the Brooklands Napier Railton is also scheduled be the there.
