Santa Pod Backs IMI Apprentices with Free Event Entry

As part of the recently announced partnership between the Allard Chrysler Action Group and the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), Santa Pod Raceway, the home of European Drag Racing, has announced a commendable initiative to reward students and apprentices who are part of IMI’s new communities; namely free passes to this year’s FIA European Drag Racing Championship events.

The FIA Championship UK rounds take place in June and September and pit the cream of Europe’s fastest Top Fuel and ‘Nitro’ cars head to head in a blaze of power that sees the top entrants hitting 100mph in well under a second and covering a quarter mile in well under 5 seconds. Santa Pod will be inviting any students or apprentices who are part of the IMI’s 1st Gear or Accelerate communities to come and enjoy Friday June 1st or Thursday Sept 6th completely free of charge.

Commenting on the initiative, Santa Pod’s Marketing Manager Caroline Day said

“We’re always looking to give something back to the industry wherever possible – and this felt like a great way to encourage the industry’s future stars to get involved with the World’s fastest motorsport. Not only is it a great day out for these apprentices, but any Top Fuel meeting is a great way to network and meet industry people at the highest level. Who knows? Some may even find their true vocation here, too!”

Passes need to be pre-booked at least a week before the event, groups should contact Debbie@santapod.com quoting ‘IMI Schools Offer’ and individuals should contact emilyh@motor.org.uk

Latest news about the Allard Chrysler dragster restoration has just been posted on http://www.eurodragster.com. Next work-in day is March 18th at Andy Robinson Race Cars. Could give the new overalls another workout. They might have been wearing T-shirts at Lions but Sydney's crew wore white overalls, shirts and ties. Give us a call if you want to join the crew.
