The trailer was originally built in the early 70's for my dads and Tony Andersons rear engined dragster.
It went through 2 modifications to where it sits today.
Originally the roof dipped quite sharply 1/2 way along. This was softened more with the nose extended to a point in the early 80's to allow more room inside the trailer and better streamlining. A third axle was also installed to give greater stability in towing. And finally after being jackknifed and put on its side on the M40 (I believe) by a friend in the mid 80's, Dad extended the roof to the nose, re-panelled it and widedened the rear to take bigger tyres.
All the original structure of the original trailer chassis is still as it was with the extensions simply welded in as and when. Even some of the original red and yellow panels were used to re-panel it and can be seen inside the trailer to this day.
