Could it be a Mk2 version of the Drag-Waye Special that ran at the '64 Dragfests by Howard German and Clive Waye with blown VW power. It ran at Santa Pod in '71 with Dave Lecoq riding it. I've some footage on one of my D.V.D.s but no pics from '71 but here's a pic of it in '64 and you can see the frame has been changed but it still has the same plastic fuel tank. Image I think it's now in a museum somewhere, anybody know?

According to the Entry Form for the Kemble round (3rd Oct'64)
Clive Waye was the Entrant and Howard German was the Driver of the
"Drag-Waye" with a capacity of 1450cc.
I remember my Father not being too keen on what he called a flying bedstead, He thought it was unsafe.

yes it is the `Mk2 ridden by Dave Lecog
Clive Waye was trying to beat George Brown's (Nero) 1/4 mile record, only for Alf Hagon to dip into the nines, so he modified it into Mk2A (Above) with more boost, in 1969 went 9.815, then 9.68 in 1970.
In 1971 they took the world standing kilometer record with a 18.23 and the british 2 litre 1/4 mile record.
When Dave Lecog took over the driving (Riding) duties, he had the seat set higher for more control.

Here's the MK2 in the pits. Does anybody know where the front wheel came from? It looks like a wheel from an old pedal bike.

All it says in the artical (Classic Bike, June 1992) it was a "Austin car front wheel" but it looks like motor cycle one to me.

I was excited to read on Eurodragster the return of this wacky creation from the past having never seen the thing in real life.
I've since been in contact with new owner Mark Hollander and he has kindly sent me some old pictures to share and hopefully some of the rebuild. will follow.
He could do with some more help though, he thought they were restoring the mkII but apparently after reading elsewhere there were 3 variations of the Drag-Waye, apparently the mkII was crashed by Howard German and so a mkIII was built, does anyone have any more information or pictures to help Mark.
