The 2017 Santa Pod Main event will sadly go down in the history books as the meeting we lost one of the most iconic cars ever in British Drag Racing, Al's Gasser.
Al's car rolled just after going through the traps but thankfully Al, now 70 years old was okay.

Ginner has released this statement.
"ALS GASSER
VERY MUCH DOWN BUT NOT OUT.
BEEN TO SEE AL TONIGHT WITH REGARDS TO THE FUTURE OF THE GASSER. WE HAVE DECIDED TO TRY AND RESTORE AND KEEP AS MUCH OF THE ORIGINAL GASSER AS POSSIBLE. WE DONT THINK THAT THE CAR WILL RACE AGAIN THIS WILL BE FOR STATIC DISPLAYS ONLY. AT THIS POINT IN TIME WE DONT KNOW WHAT PARTS PEOPLE CAN HELP WITH WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED WITH A LIST SOON IF ANY ONE CAN HELP IN ANY WAY. WE HAVE ALREADY HAD LOTS OF OFFERS OF HELP SO FAR. WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS WE WILL BE BACK
"

Oh, what could have been in Top Fuel if it wasn't for the weather on Monday.
Unlike other years all TF cars at the Main Event could run quick numbers and probably take this year's title.
Rune Fjeld celebrated the start of his 40th year in drag racing with all 3 of his cars running in the 3-second zone.

The UK's Liam Jones brought the house down in qualifying with a 3.97sec @ 301.78 mph blast. (not this photo)

Jndia Erbacher made some fantastic licensing runs in her dad's car.

Sweden's Bianca Nilsson had a nasty spill in practice. Running a different clutch in SSB class caught her off guard.
Bianca came back out and run the rest of the meeting.
