The Gasser Circus have a very impressive line up of Gasser s to add to all the other big classes at the 21st NSRA Nostalgia Nationals.
16 cars are confirmed so far and that includes 3 new Gassers of Steve Lang,Ray Irish and Stephen Dixon.
It's gonna be a blast.

It’s just been confirmed that former jet jockey Colin Fallows will be bringing along to this weekend’s Nostalgia Nationals for demo runs Mick Butler’s 1000cc double engined Norton drag bike Super Cyclops. Now fully restored this will be the first time the bike has seen a race track since the seventies but I’m not too sure if Super Cyclops raced at Long Marston or not!

Joining Colin will be John Hobbs with both Olympus and Hobbit, the Hagon Weslake of Justin Newall, Dave Clee with Shotgun, Tim Howell’s nitro fuelled UXB BSA, either the Triumph powered Endeavour or the 1928 Douglas, owner Bernie White hasn’t decided yet (must be great to have a choice!), and Phil Steele with Keith Parnell’s former ride Rouge et Noir II.

The plan is two run these machines twice daily, and if time permits to face flag girl Claudia on the start line late Saturday afternoon in our Flagstalgia feature!

According to Wendy Talbot the last time Super Cyclops raced at Long Marston Jon was in the early eighties by Dave Emerson. Need to check in some old programmes.

Interesting to know the bike ran and Long Marston.

Although I can't find any other programmed rides Mick Butler entered Super Cyclops into the Competition motorcycle category at the 1974 5th round of the Castrol Drag Racing Championship held at Long Marston (the last quarter mile race held on the Market runway). As for results the bike didn't figure. According to Colin, and Roy Webb who has had the machine in storage, Super Cyclops last raced in 1982 unless anyone else knows better!
