Wow...what a fantastic find and brilliant restoration!
This car needs to appear at Dragstalgia next year.
Now if only the original Mk1 'works' Dragon would miraculously reappear...

I was speaking with Brian Taylor today and there seems to be some confusion around this car as nobody knows anything about it, even Allard.

Have a look at Allard Sports Cars Ltd page on Facebook, there are a few more photos of the car taken at the NEC.

nice to see an Allardette there too... wonder if it was one of the cars raced by Duce and Sydney at Silverstone in '63?

The Allardette is a fresh recreation. If you have a look at the Allard Sports Cars Ltd. page on Facebook there are pictures of the build in progress. Talking to Lloyd Allard at the show it was only finished on Thursday ready for transporting to the show on Friday.

thanks for posting the as found pic and in progress shots...

do you know if it was the chassis run by Colin Glass in '65 and '66 or was it one that never got used?

Thanks for posting these. Really interesting.
Is that first picture of the chassis all he had to work on for the restoration or did he have other bits/parts.

Let me add my thanks for posting too.

If anyone's interested, there's currently a copy of the Sept 1964 Boy's Own on ebay priced at £10.99 including p&p

Autocar magazine 24 April 1964 issue published this Dragon track test from the Silverstone press day.
Interesting to see the timing equipment tied to the roll bar with a bit of old rope!
