Was it the same body that was on -
JWR 'Whistler'
Steve Stringers yellow SBC powered econo-funny
Ed Shavers 'Ecstascy' funny show car
Hillbillies funny
Daimler V8 altered/econo-funny
If it was it must be one of the most used bodies in Uk drag racing?

I remember standing up in the bay, with the late Dave Hoy,the first time the yellow car turned up at scrutineering, looking at the 18" square of alloy plate mounted to the bellhousing the conversation went something like-
Capt. Tom ....The firewalls too small.
Owner..........Funny Car's don't need firewalls.
Capt. Tom ....They do to race here.
End of conversation-it didn't race!
Anyone got a photo of it in this guise,I had some but they're not in the'lost' batch that turned up.
Cheers

Thanks jaytee you're right it did look really neat in yellow.
Wonder what happened to the chassis and bits from Ecstasy,I seem to remember it was built-up by Pat Cuss for Ed as a show car,Pat was with it at one of the shows(London?) and told us the block was empty and the blower was one of his 'glass replicas-may be a link to another recent post did Pete Ferris paint it?
Again anyone got a photo,I liked the GTE body it made a good looking Funny.

Thanks Jon,
A very good looking car.
I wonder if the 'Hillbillies' just used the body modified or the rest of the car.
Wonder what happened to it after the 'Chiltern' Daimler-powered car-does it still exist?
Cheers
