This has me completely lost-Its a Villiers 247 Starmaker(I think - I was a Bultaco man back then) engined micro rail I believe I photographed it in 1969 or '70.It was beautifully built and so low that the guy had cut-outs in the body for his feet to poke through.Polished alloy bodywork and a light metallic blue frame if the memory isn't completely shot.Second photo shows it racing the 'Anomalous' Daimler powered Opus.Sorry about the quality but the negs were in a bad way.
Any info or coloured photos would be appreciated.

I think that's Bryan Smith's 'Baby Blu' listed in the programme with an AJS 247cc. Don't think I've seen another pic of it.

Thanks TT
Baby Blu rings a vague bell-I think I only saw it once which is a pity as it was a really nice job.
Cheers

Rooted around in my bookshelves this afternoon and found a copy of Roy Bacon's British Motorcycles of the 60's.
Looks like the motor was an AJS(Villiers) 247cc Starmaker probably from an AJS Double T racer or an AJS Alamos scrambler both of 1967/68 vintage.
Now does anyone know the whereabouts of Bryan Smith or is there an archive of early Pod racers contact details.I really am interested in finding more details and photos.
Cheers
Chris
