At the very first meet I attended, there was a mk1 escort - 'Dad's Objection' run by two sisters - Liz and Jaqueline Phillips I think. They went onto run a Jag powered T possibly with the same name.

I haven't a pic of either to post unfortunately ..

Any further info anyone?

Dads objection 2 was built by us for the Wilkins bros who called it
blood sweat and tears. after less than 2 years they put it up for sale.
i remember driving it at long marston to advertise it because graham
wilkins had no licence. also the last time i drove an altered-next time should be fun!! I managed to broker a deal for the brothers to sell to the sisters and it became dads objection2. Jacqie philips did most of the
driving and i helped as much as i could. in my opinion she could have
driven any car-A natural!!
Hope this helps

Here's the Dad's Objection altered at the Pod in 1981 and the same car running with the Wild Bunch in 1994. I can't remember who was running it in 1994 but I took the pic in Wales at a roundy-round track. I've forgotten what the track was called but it probably started with two Ls. Cunningplan will know and Muddytalker was commentating there. Image Image

Yeah that's it. I take it The Philips sisters were long retired from drag racing when the car resurfaced in WB? The car known then simply as objection.

LLandow Nick
The car was then owned by Simon Miskely and was run a couple of times at Llandow and Avon Park as it was then, I dont think he had his heart in the car and it ended up on the custom car circuit, before being sold less engine and box to a couple called Stoney & Nicky from the Bristol way. this was a few years ago and I have not heard anything of the car since.
The funnyest run at Llandow was, that when he pulled the chute at the 1/8 finish line, it promply came out and fell on the floor, he had forgotten to fix it to the chassis underneath.
