Strange thing is I took the picture, at Blackbushe Aug 84, and George lived within 10 miles of me but I cannot remember the car and any details about it, or George... Must be having a CRAFT moment, as JP would say.

Over to you, what do you know?

I'm pretty sure George was an NDRC startline marshal then decided to go racing and bought the ex-Andy Craddock "Frontline Video" Rover T altered which he called "George and the Dragon" followed by "Warbonnet"...........so the question now is, did "Warbonnet" use the same chassis as his "George and the Dragon T" altered?

Looks like it. I think I have pics of this car as 'the mistress' when it was run by Kev .. can't think of his surname from Gateshead. I'll have a look through some pics a bit later ..

You're right TT. George was part of FAST (Fire & Accident Safety Teams) at Avon Park all those years ago after selling 'Warbonnet' to some guy up north. Badger's gonna find some pics of the car as I remember it racin' at York in yellow. George later went on to become an RAC (pre MSA) Clerk of Course and then gave it all up to get married when the politics took hold of the sport in the mid-nineties. He still comes to the track now and then.

Yer, that's it although I still remember seeing it in yellow (possibly gel coat or something like that) as a flip top econo altered Funny Car. Sure looked good. I wonder where it is now...

Who owned and raced the 'Mistress' Opel then at York? That yellow Ashely's lurking around in the background! See Rover Challenge thread

From a 1994 York programme it was Kevin Martin.

I knew I had seen it somewhere. This was taken at Long Marston in the mid eighties.
