@ torment.
All, and without scavenging the whole house to make sure there isn't one escaped, but ALL my drag-race photos went up to Jon to go through. Can't honestly remember is there was, or was not any 'engine shots'. As I took piles of pix of all sorts them days, and was a 'Vauxhall man' myself, it's possible. Hope Jon finds them, if there is, or someone else comes up with some. Good to see the Chevette body back out again recently, LOT of memories.

myself and Martin (wing nut )Ward built the none turbo chevette in a lock up garage at the side of martins mothers house. It took us about 8 months,We had almost finished an imp altered with a Chrysler 330 Spitfire semi hemi in when Murt (steve Maltby) asked us to build the Chevette for DTV, The chassis was built of 18g steel tubing stick welded as we had no mig or tig machine in those days, the rear axle was an E type with lsd and the gear box was a straight cut ZF with 4th and 5th blanked, not the best way but everything on the car had to come from Bill Blydensteins stores to keep the costs down.the engine was originally an 8 valve slant four vauxhall as used in the first rally Chevettes but was later changed to a 2.6 stroker 16 valve ,what a little cracker it was too, before startup you had to remove the distributor and hand turn the oil pump to make sure the oilways where full, dtv usedto insist you did this and it seemed to work,it never broke and ran like a clock, will try and remember a few more bits and post on the forum when I have time cheers swee

The car in dougs picture is my car that evolved into torment.

The chassis on ebay is the one from under the same car...only change was the diff ratio. .

I hope someone buys it and carrys on to build a car out of goes well with a rover or hot pinto.

thanks for that jerry, thats my dad at the front of the car holding the body..
as most of you know the car has evolved to a 540 bbc and run a p.b. 8.38/152...not a full pass mind as the rear axle ratio needs changing..4/11s are a bit much as it goes like an 1/8 mile car..
