Sometime ago I was asked by Tog at Eurodragster if I knew of any information concerning the whereabouts of AA/Fuel Altered 10 last scene competing at the NSRA Hot Rod Drags at Avon Park in 1994. There, the complete turnkey altered had been purchased by a Frenchman and that’s where the trail ends.
Thanks to TimeTravel we’ve managed to trace the car’s original history from the ex Houndog 9 Chevy Vega nitro Funny Car from 1979. From there, Dave Prior owned the car and raced it for a short time as ‘Warlock’ with Alan Bates. In 1980, the car appeared again but only as a show vehicle until 1984 where Dave’s son and daughter, Stuart and Lesley raced it as the 'Solarport Sunroofs Kwik Kat' Funny Car.
In 1988 the car appeared with a T-body and ran several meetings at Long Marston and York Raceway before being sold on to the Lambert Brothers Paul and Dick. In there ownership the car was transformed into a Willys Coupe altered as a rolling advertisement for their Pro Car Engineering business before making its final stop at Long Marston as a T altered again. There also seems to be some links to Pro Comp racers John Dowse and Jon Lovett. Also ‘Crazy Jake’ was mentioned too!. I’m sure that there’s more history and race info somewhere. Can anyone shed some more light on this thread and what happened to the car after landing in France.
