Just wondering if there is anything happening with the NFAA next year or is it all done and dusted , Im hoping to get the ex clayton round car out a lot more next year after a few learning runs in the later part of this year, its been a big learning curve and hopefully ironed out a few gremlins we had, otherwise its just super pro and super charged outlaws next year.

Hi Paul was wondering what’s happening with nfaa as was thinking of maybe a nostalgia fuel altered- slingshot class in 2019 as testing for us next year and I know of a few more people interested got around 6 - 10 depending on cars being done, hoping to get out with the supercharged Outlaws next year at the moment and see where it takes me

Been thinking along the same lines but about a class that would encompass slingshots fuel altereds and funnycars (chassis and drivetrain meeting NHRA heritage rules and centre steer only) that would operate on a heads up elimination basis but outside MSA events .

Outlaw pro-comp anyone -?

Whilst the above is only a brief overview it would put back the excitement and true nostalgia that has been missing for myself and others since the introduction of bracket racing in the 80s.

I think/hope we will see Havoc at least once.
The Gleadow's car will be out and that should be really cool and interesting and also Dave Grabham.
I believe the new MOB car is almost ready to go.
Not loads but hopefully enough to keep the great class going.

I’m not sure if you guys are on Facebook book I only joined it myself as thought was the best way to get scope but my idea was around a nostalgia class either running to a 6 or 7 sec index I think it’s going to happen I’ve had some good feedback just need to show class will be sustainable for a year or so to get recognition but my intention would be to be completely legal and tagged and my idea was to try and run along side the NFC at the big shows and the usual hrd, nostalgia’s and dragstalgia so looking at 6-7 events a year

James ,
Agree totally with the idea of a nostalgia class based around the times mentioned and the need for the need for the cars to meet current chassis specs , the three lifestyle meetings you list are all geared towards the nostalgia scene and work well for the audience and those that enter them Dragstalgia already having a slingshot showdown that is gaining popularity

As for the so called big shows are sanctioned and run under MSA rules and guidelines one would imagine that any new class would need to be ratified by the MSA first , or as an exibition class but as with any commercial venture a return on investment will undoubtably be required ie it needs to be a class or show the paying spectator wants , if this does not transpire then the class gets sidelined or merged just look at the situation with TAFC.
So the need is to produce a polished product prior to application

Just my 2 cents worth
