Ken "Mr Flathead" Cooper
I have been informed British Drag Racing Hall of Fame inductee Ken Cooper has been admitted to hospital with suspected bladder cancer. Ken is at the moment and a little poorly after the initial procedures to determine the severity of his condition. Tests are being carried out to ascertain if the cancer has spread to other organs and from there what treatment will be prescribed.
Ken's son Bradley Cooper said, "Dad was so worried he had caused a problem by not being able to attend his induction in November and asked Bradley to apologise". That just shows the measure of the man, more worried about the problems he may have caused others than his own situation.
I assured the family that Ken will be inducted by the BDRHoF on the night no matter what. If necessary I will travel to Cannock to present Ken with his award personally depending on how he feels if Ken or no one from the family can make the gala night.
