The last of Sammy's cars that I recall seeing. This would be about 1994-5 I guess since he'd announced his revised lsr intentions after the launch of ThrustSSC. This car used mixed jet/rocket power to test his theories for the actual lsr car. Think it only ever ran at Santa Pod using the jet. What happened to this car then? btw - BloodhoundSSC is of course using same concept.

Cheers

I think the pictures taken in the snow were at a Easter meet but can't remember the year, I do remember waking up in the snow though

Dont know if this has been mentioned before but acording to a documentary called Devil at your heels, Sammy miller was cew cheif and test driver for a world record attempt. Ken Carter wanted to jump a car over a mile wide river, he had a rocket car built to do the jump with. About 50mins in is where you first see sammy and he is rather entetaining in the footage. There is also footage of Ken learning to drive a rocket Funny car in the captain america rocket f.c(with no fire suit on as he wouldnt fit in the car with it on!).Jim deist also features later on as saftey consultant. If you have a bit of time on your hands have a look,

A dodgy stitch but a great shot of Sammy strapping Bootsie in to Vanishing point.
