As some of you may have already seen "The Lovely Liz" Rowland (Burn) has published a book about her adventures and times in drag racing. The book is a diary she kept while racing and starts when she raced in Pro comp and reflects back to how she became involved in the sport. It is very light-hearted with some humourous stories and mentions most people she raced against and has over 50 photos.

If you want to save a few quid from Amazon prices Liz is kindly offering signed copies on here @ £17.95 incl postage to anywhere in the UK.
Anyone who would like to contact Liz direct and order a copy can do so on the following email address.

Thanks for the book Liz - and your memories - hope your children appreciate their mum as more than "just a mum!"
The tales from the "other end of the pits" brought back many of our memories of the Pod in the 70's
PS on Page 26 isn't the other dragster "Drag n Fly" John Whitmore 1275cc SC BMC?

Phil, you know that everyone is going to rush and have a look at page 26 now dont you :?
I realy liked the book Liz, you told it how it was, good insight how it was to run not only one but two cars and look after the family and farm.

Yes you are right Phil, you spotted my deliberate mistake - I just wanted to see if you were paying attention!! it is drag'n'fly so my apologies to John Whitmore - and to whoever raced 'Mouse organ'. Hope someone can remind me who that was.

But I am pleased you and Cunningplan enjoyed the book.

Hi all

I had this book given to me as a gift and I read it in one night. I couldn't put it down! I loved it. I've even started reading it again. It had a lovey message from Liz too. Being deeply in love with drag racing and being a woman I can relate to quite a few of the stories in the book. But in addition to that, someone (like a girlfriend or wife) who isn't into the sport could read it and understand what its all about its so well written and in such a great format.
Being somone who is earmarked to drive the Allard-Skilton car (and only having raced production cars) its opened my eyes to the bits and bobs that go into a "proper" dragster.

It really is a fantastic read and a great look into the life of a remarkable woman!
