Anyway I have got some more old Street Machine and CC mags to help gain info about the series and an interesting one from Sept 91 Street Machine is attached - remember sponsorship changed at the end of 91 from SM to CC and Real Steel got involved again as well.....
Phil
can you remember who the two were who got disqualified in street rover in 91

Sorry Jez - I do not know, but if we can find an earlier SM write up of the York first round we may know by a process of elimination ........
Just to update - here is a piccy taken yesterday at the STP RWYB meet.
Also there were Stan and Paula Atkins - with their latest American imported door slammer - using the motor from the 100E( which they sold 18 months ago). Unfortunately they could not run due to a faulty starter pinion.
Another head buried in a Mk 1 Escort with a supercharged Vauxhall "Red Top" 16v engine was Kev Jenkins!! So it was great to see two of the stalwarts of "Pro Rover" still at the Pod! (3 - counting myself...)

Hi Kieran
It was good to meet you and your Dad! Sorry that the piston problem is not yet sorted :( . Many thanks for the pictures - it has been a while since the car was on Santa Pod tarmac - 21 years I reckon.....
It would be great if you could fill in the race report gaps using the old Street Machine magazines.

Nice idea about a reunion Phil, how about at Long Marston (can't bring myself to call it Shakeys) sept 18th, it's the N.S.R.A. nostalgia meet, i'll be there as long as the weather holds up.
Jez, seeing the pics of your Anglia reminded me of something. Am i right in thinking you used to have 'SPITTING LEAD' written above your exhaust exits? I loved that, two fingers to the green party

Found this recently, oct '95. It was only a rwyb but was nice to find a pro rover there.

Hi Mike, in 1989 a friend of mine came to a RV8 round at Long Marsdon to watch the racing, he said to me after wow your exhausts were "spitting lead" and those two words stuck with me (and allways have)
It was on a flick of a coin wether to call the Anglia Strightlineangle or Spitting lead when it was painted in 1990.
Back to your point yes you are right it was sign written above the exhausts, used to get a lot of comments.
Mike i'll pm you my phone number ring me at the Hot Rod Drags i'm there all w/end with the car.
