Hi , Wallywolf is spot on when he said the picture shown was probably taken before Tony Grace owned the car.
I know because i sold the Dragster too Tony and the Chromme et Flamme stickers on the car were put on by me when the Magazine sponsored us .
The Lancia powered Dragster was built by myself and my late crew chief Bob Shayler
The Chassis was built by Norm Wheeldon and the rest was put together by Bob and I , It raced at Avon park , the Pod ,Le Mans . Albi , and in Switzerland .
I bought it back off Tony Grace about 5 years ago when i was still racing in Top Methanol ,He still had it sat in his garage near High Wycombe and still had the original trailer seen in the background in one of the shots . Mike key put me back in touch with Tony and we went along to see it ,he was calling it Dickey Mint then ,We rann it under the name of Streetfighter as Bob and I were Bouncers in a club back then ,
I,d love to get in touch with anyone who had anything to do with the car as i,m restoring it ,in fact i,ve just come in from making the new motor plate , Tony and Hoss modified a few things on the car and in fact it did,nt have the blower on when i got it back ,it had a pair of 40 dcoe,s on and was back on petrol not Alcohol .
I have all sorts of pictures of the car ,and the article from the magazine ,and more recently i came across a video of the car at Albi ,southern France .
So anyone ,especially Wallywolf , I,d love to hear from you John Parkinson
