The 1979 September World Series including Sammy Miller in his Vanishing Point Rocket Funny Car, the parade of Fuelers, Funnies and Pro Comps which were all fired up together, the wet T-shirt contestants and the record breaking Funny Car final as Gene Snow wins with a holeshot 6.04 to Raymond Beadle's 6.00/227mph...

The September 1980 World Finals at Santa Pod and in the first round of Funny Car Ronnie Picardo beats Owen Hayward who crosses the centre line, Stig Hansson red lights while Dennis Priddle crosses the outside line eliminating both of them, then Rune Fjeld pulls a huge holeshot on a sleeping Allan Herridge and wins with a 6.58/218mph to a 6.28/217mph. Don Prudhomme broke in the first round then came out and broke again in a second Funny Car Eliminator made up of first round losers. Pro Comp final sees Tony Donges take out Steiner Enger's Altered. Harlan Thompson on his first visit to Santa Pod reached the final against Gene Snow with Harlan taking it with a 6.32/196mph as Snow lost fire to wrap up the biggest Funny Car race ever staged in the UK...
