The year is 1976 and a picture taken in the Santa pod pits at what I believe (due to the vast expanses of available pit space in the background) is a "Run-what-you-brung" day.

The bike is Norman Hyde's old 350/500cc Triumph powered record holding sidecar unit, minus the sidecar but with the third wheel attachment locations still on the left side of the bike.
Unfortunately, the third wheel didn't come with the bike. I did try tracking it down much later in an attempt to put the old gal back to her original record breaking set up.
I drove from Bedford to Norwich and purchased this bike from Mr. Webb and he was good enough to deliver it to me during one of his trips to "The Pod". It was my first foray into the dragbike racing scene.

I'm the half naked one that is re-setting the timing. The old gal had twin points and coil ignition when I bought her, but we would switch between coils and magneto depending upon if we tipped the Nitro can up over 50%

The other guy is my old school friend who will forever be known as "Brains" due to him having an uncanny resemblance to the 'Thunderbirds are Go" puppet character of the same name.
