Don Beadle (kneeling)... Could be on the run that the lenco was fitted (but no one knew which way the lever had to go, CS shifted from high to low gear, then everyone knew which way the lever went.

great shot of the Stones' match race. I'm guessing that's from the Aug '76 meeting when Gerry took the win with a 7.4 to Dave's 7.8

brilliant shot of a naked Mr Revell, wonder what the best times it ran like this, there's something about a FED with canards in front of the motor that does it for me

Hullabaloo the '68 Barracuda on page 50 is still alive and racing. I first saw the car in about 1980, as a rolling shell at Pete Goddards place. It had a flame paint job as I recall and that odd egg crate grille, he told me it was the old Hullabaloo car. Some friends of friends bought it, put the correct grille in it and painted it sublime, it then passed on to Dave Bishop who had it for a while during which time I did some welding on it, and I would dispute it was ever acid dipped. Dipped cars are notoriously difficult to weld or do body work on. Dave did little with it and sold it to Mark Bailey who finally got it back together and racing. Mark has raced it for many years now, it's the silver car in pro et. Unless Mark ever drove it on the street, I think this must have been a race car pretty much from day one.

The Stones had the name of Doo Wat before it was called Tee Rat.

Here's what must be the best photograph I've ever seen of the most photographed car in British Drag Racing.

As does Dennis in Mr Revell as Owen lets the car do the reversing.

I think I'm right in saying that the RED Houndog was the first Top Fueler to be fitted with a reverse gear
