Back to Mantorp with Alleygator and I'm reliably informed that the
car went into the sand pit - hence the whole car tear down, no panels, steering
link missing off the front. Every part of the car had to be
blown out with an air line, which you can see hooked on to the rear wing strut.

I believe the stones were running Hemi Hunter in top fuel at this event.

Jumping back to August and that classic match race between two of the UK finest, if not the best builders and drag racers.
Dennis took the very entertaining, blower belt shredding battle 2-1
You can see that one of the tabloids were given out a nice free ticket to the race.

Taking ownership of the new trans am meant the old Vega was vacant and it was decided the Peter Crane would take over the drive. The car would continue it's long career and was called Hustler.
I must assume this is Peter in the hot seat taking his first passes in the car.
Pete?

With Scorpion weighing 4 tonne and not being as quick as they liked some new jets were planned.
A trip to OCIR was taken for information and ideas.

Hayden Proffitt's Hot Streak. I think it's easy to see what influenced the Hellbender design

This is from the NSA's magazine The Sprinter January 1963. Both Bootsie and Brian Sparrow were NSA members at the time.

Thanks for those Clive.
I had a very enjoyable few hours around Brian's house on Wednesday, I could chat with him for hours.
We spoke quite a lot about those early days and the Dragster Developments stuff. I have something in the pipeline if we can get it together.
Brian visits the forum every day and is really enjoying this thread. I know he's been waiting for more Jet Car stuff so that's next.
