The 'Top Gun' Manta Super gasser was the race car of Dave Peasant from Featherstone West Yorkshire. Dave ran a company in Leeds called Carlton Mouldings, Dave had never been to a drag race and knew nothing about Drag Racing until Dave Grady called in for some glass panels for the Thunder Truck!.........Mr Peasant was suitably inspired by Dave's enthusiasm for Super Gas racing and the Manta was built shortly after.
The car ran a 331c.i. Chevy motor and Pod commentator Graham Beckwith was involved somehow with the running of this car, it ran solid low elevens mainly at York and was part of an army of northern Super gassers, around twenty cars running under Grady's G-Force banner!
The car ran from 87 - until the early nineties.
