A shot of my bike in the SPR pits in late '68. The frame had just
been painted in Chevrolet "Fire Frost red". My Dad used to work at
Harold
Radford's coachbuilders in Chiswick at the time and got me a sample tin
of the paint but it wasn't enough so I imported another 2 litres from Du
Pontin Sweden. Unfortunatly I hadn't figured on the freight and import
duty so my measly apprentice wage took a real pounding that week!
Harold Bull of "Stripduster" fame
did all the bronze welding on the frame and, the following year, re-sprayed
it in metalflake purple from paint left
over from his dragster
