The great E.J. Potter on his 'Widowmaker' . Not 6-foot off the line and the back end's already sliding out to the right.  This was the second of E'J's three runs on the day.  On the last he dropped the bike when turning from the shut-off area into the return road.  After a brief delay he hopped back on, got his crew to push start the bike again then rode back to the cheering crowd!  I think it was the following week when he put the bike into the guard rail.
E.J couldn't race alongside anyone else.  Not because there wasn't any other machine to match him but simply because he needed both lanes for his bike!  His tyre mark would always snake across the centre line.
